Daria Tavoularis works in oil, pen and ink, gouache, fabric dye, embroidery and Photoshop. She studied studio art in college, receiving her MFA in 2005 from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and her BFA in 1999 from the Cooper Union in New York City. Daria edits the art and poetry magazine Article: Art and the Imaginative Promise with Kim Bennett, makes paintings, drawings and scupltures, and designs and handcrafts Terra Pooka dolls and toys. As an illustrator, she is always impressed by the power of the simplest image to convey the deepest information and emotion, the heart of the story. |
