…..a long time ago or perhaps it hasn’t happened yet, in a faraway world that is very close to this one, there lived a little elf named Leaf. Leaf was content to hop from flower to flower, enjoying the sweetest nectar, listening to the songs of the wind, and dreaming of a friend to play with. It was a beautiful life but it was also a lonely one. One night when Leaf was snuggled up asleep in a buttercup, a light shone down from the farthest star and landed in Leaf’s dream. Behind Leaf’s closed eyes, light and color swirled and danced, and an aching brightness began to awaken in Leaf’s heart. After a night of spectacular dreaming, Leaf awoke to find that the world had changed. Leaf heard a beautiful humming and discovered that each of the flowers had a voice! The wind added it’s own song to the flowers’ symphony. Leaf listened with awe and felt the brightness within grow wider. There was a whoosh and the sky was full of wings. Leaf looked up to see fairies and butterflies all around. The butterflies buzzed and the fairies sang and laughed. They were here to play with Leaf! Leaf jumped up from the cozy buttercup with a full heart, excited to welcome new friends on this new day, knowing that anything could happen.
